LASTWORLD is guitarist/multi-instrumentalist/songwriter JIM SHEPARD and vocalist DAVID CAGLE. The new studio release "Over The Edge" is the follow up to their debut album "Time" on MelodicRock Records.  JK Northrup the master of mastering was brought in again to boost the sonics, so fans will hear the best versions of these recordings. JIM has again delivered his best songs and performance to date and David once again delivering a flawless rock vocal showcase. JIM SHEPARD is an American independent multi-instrumentalist who has recorded several solo albums as well as his band Taxi, who dominated the Northwest Indiana rock scene in the 90s. Award-winning international singer DAVID CAGLE has recorded vocals on more than 1000 songs over the past 10 years for clients all over the world, covering multiple genres of music. Although a singer of many styles, Cagle is most known for his melodic, soulful rock voice.

The album starts with ”Judgement Day", the sharping guitar  introduce us in this brilliant album, in which Mr. Shepard shows his  innate talent, such a good kick to start. I remember that all the instruments are played by Jim Shepard. David Cagle melodic voice perfectly suits balancing his vocal expression in any passage, and not only in this song but in all the pieces proposed in the album.
"What If I'm Right" the duo proposes a classic AOR, which we can also listen to in the following "Dying To Live", simple but impressive tracks that deserve due attention
We find the 90s American style in "It's Cold Outside”, in other words, a piece more closest to  Bon Jovi sounds and it’s another good track with such a good instruments work, catchy that winks at the rock fans of the latest generation.
From “Never Enough” starts what I personally consider the best part of the album, much more variable in both structures  and and inspiration. Scratchy, sharp and with a wide range of sounds without leaving the rock world.
For example we find the inspirational and inspired song "Over The Edge”, perhaps the piece that best shows the true nature of LastWorld, absolutely brilliant.
As beautiful as it is "I'm Not Afraid”, more technical track, markedly high level with a stronger structure which emphasizes the voice and at the same time highlights the artistic Jim Shepard’ skills.  If you like atmospheric songs, you’ll love this one.
Let's change the sound again with the next "Wasting My Time", definitely more biting and aggressive than the tracks listened to so far, where the talented guitarist expresses himself also in speed.
Metal influenced is the end, in fact we find "Tomorrow Is Another Day", with, I can say it openly, the best riffs of the album and with a harsher sound.
"Over The Edge" is a multifaceted work that meets a variety of musical tastes in rock and metal, very talent and very pleasing.
